Goodbye 2010 Formula1 season

WOW! It was a terrific season for Formula1. The drivers championship being decided in the last race at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Red Bull Racing had won the teams chamionship in Brazil last weekend so all eyes were on the final race to find out which driver would win the championship for the 2010 Formula1 season.
Before the race began Alonso was the favorite but his pit stop pushed him behind Petrov and after that he could not overtake the Renault driver which costed him the drivers chamionship. With Sebastin Vettel driving a perfect race and leading from the front, the Red Bull driver suddenly became a hot favorite. When Vettel took the chequered flag at Abu Dhabi he became the second German driver afterMichael Schumacher  to win the drivers championship. So the Abu Dhabi formula1 result made Red Bull Racing gather both the team championship as well as the drivers championship.
Red Bull Racing were the best in the 2010 Formula1 season and they should have bagged the drivers and the team championship long time back. Sebesastin Vettel should be congratulated for holding his head high, fighting till the last race and winning the 2010 Formula1 championship. Mark Webber lost his lead during the last three races and never looked like regaining it.
Ferrari were so near yet so far. After their 1-2 finish in the race opener at Bahrain one would have thought that they would dominate but they lacked the power of Red Bull. Alonso will be cursing his luck and will be thinking about his inability to overtake Petrov costing him the championship. Massa was the second driver for Ferrari and this was decided by Ferrari very early in the season.
Mercedes re-entered the Formula1 scene with Michael Schumacher but his entry has been nothing but a disaster. His younger team mate Nico Rosberg was always ahead of him which suggested that times have changed now.
Force India started the season nicely but somewhere down the line it looks like they cannot be in the top 10 consistently. Mallaya needs to work very hard with this team if they want to be alongside the front runners.
2010 was also the final season for Bridgestone. So next year we have a new tyre manufacturer supplying tyres to the formula1 team.
All teams will now be planning for the season opener in Bahrain next year. So while the different teams sort out their drivers for 2011 Formula1 season we will say goodbye to the 2010 Formula1 season and wish
Sebastin Vettel on becoming the new champion.
