Fan shows finger to Messi(Video)

In the match between Barcelona and Panathinaikos a fan invaded the football pitch and showed Lionel Messi the finger. No prize for guessing which team that crazy fan was supporting. The way Messi is performing it is not only driving the opposite teams crazy but it is also frustrating the fans  from rival clubs.

Virgin Atlantic boss loses a bet

When the Formula1 2010 season had started Sir Richard Branson the owner of the formula1 team Virgin Racing and also the owner of Virgin Atlantic Airlines struck a friendly bet with fellow airline owner Tony Fernandes of Air Asia who also owns the Lotus Racing team in F1. This Sunday when the Formula1 2010 season ended the Lotus racing team finished at 10th position while Virgin racing finished a dismal last.  So now as per the bet Sir Richard would have to shave his legs and wear his competitor airlines uniform for a charity flight from Malaysia to UK.

"We want him to shave his legs. We are going to try and get him to shave his legs and wear some make-up. But we will leave his moustache alone as it is his trademark," AirAsia boss and Lotus Racing owner Fernandes said.

Branson, who has already received his AirAsia badge and uniform for the charity flight on AirAsia, has been a good sport about the whole deal, Fernandes has said.

So will the owner of Virgin Racing keep his word? Lets wait and watch.

Goodbye 2010 Formula1 season

WOW! It was a terrific season for Formula1. The drivers championship being decided in the last race at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. Red Bull Racing had won the teams chamionship in Brazil last weekend so all eyes were on the final race to find out which driver would win the championship for the 2010 Formula1 season.
Before the race began Alonso was the favorite but his pit stop pushed him behind Petrov and after that he could not overtake the Renault driver which costed him the drivers chamionship. With Sebastin Vettel driving a perfect race and leading from the front, the Red Bull driver suddenly became a hot favorite. When Vettel took the chequered flag at Abu Dhabi he became the second German driver afterMichael Schumacher  to win the drivers championship. So the Abu Dhabi formula1 result made Red Bull Racing gather both the team championship as well as the drivers championship.
Red Bull Racing were the best in the 2010 Formula1 season and they should have bagged the drivers and the team championship long time back. Sebesastin Vettel should be congratulated for holding his head high, fighting till the last race and winning the 2010 Formula1 championship. Mark Webber lost his lead during the last three races and never looked like regaining it.
Ferrari were so near yet so far. After their 1-2 finish in the race opener at Bahrain one would have thought that they would dominate but they lacked the power of Red Bull. Alonso will be cursing his luck and will be thinking about his inability to overtake Petrov costing him the championship. Massa was the second driver for Ferrari and this was decided by Ferrari very early in the season.
Mercedes re-entered the Formula1 scene with Michael Schumacher but his entry has been nothing but a disaster. His younger team mate Nico Rosberg was always ahead of him which suggested that times have changed now.
Force India started the season nicely but somewhere down the line it looks like they cannot be in the top 10 consistently. Mallaya needs to work very hard with this team if they want to be alongside the front runners.
2010 was also the final season for Bridgestone. So next year we have a new tyre manufacturer supplying tyres to the formula1 team.
All teams will now be planning for the season opener in Bahrain next year. So while the different teams sort out their drivers for 2011 Formula1 season we will say goodbye to the 2010 Formula1 season and wish
Sebastin Vettel on becoming the new champion.

Which driver will win the Formula1 2010 championship?

If you wanted a grand finale to the Formula1 2010 season then you have one this weekend at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi. There are four drivers in contention for the F1 2010 Championship.

POINTS:
Fernando Alonso: 246 points
Mark Webber: 238 points
S.Vettel: 231 points
Lewis Hamilton: 222 points

All the four drivers have a probability  of winning the Formula1 2010 Championship. Have a look below to find the different combinations required by the drivers to win the championship.

Fernando Alonso
  • 1st or 2nd place in Abu Dhabi will give Alono the World  Championship.
  • If Webber comes 1st then Alonso has to finish 2nd.
  • If Webber comes 2nd then Alonso has to finish 5th or above.
  • If Webber comes 3rd then Alonso has to finish 6th or above.
  • If Webber comes 4th then Alonso has to finsih 8th or above.
  • If Webber comes 5th then Alonso has to finish 9th or above.
  • If Vettel comes 1st then Alonso has to finish 4th or above.
  • If Vettel comes 2nd then Alonso has to finish 8th or above.
Mark Webber

  •  Webber can't afford to finish lower than fifth if he wants to stand any chance of winning his maiden Championship
  • If he wins, Alonso needs to finish no higher than P3
  •  If he finishes P2, Alonso needs to finish no higher than P6 and Vettel no higher than P2
  •  If he finishes P3, Alonso needs to finish no higher than P7 and Vettel no higher than P2
  •  If he finishes P4, Alonso needs to be finish no higher than P9 and Vettel no higher than P2
  • If he finishes P5, Alonso needs to finish P10 and Vettel no higher than P3
Sebastian Vettel

  • Any position lower than second will see him finish the season empty handed
  • If he wins, he needs Alonso to finish P5 or lower
  •  If he finishes P2, he needs Alonso to finish no higher than P9 and Webber no higher than P5
Lewis Hamilton

  •  He needs to win to stand any chance of winning a second title
  • If he wins, Alonso needs to finish P11 or lower, Webber needs to finish P6 or lower and Vettel needs to finish no higher than P3
* Should Vettel win the race and finish level on 256 points with a fifth-placed Alonso, then the Red Bull driver will win the Championship. They will both have won the same amount of race victories (five), same amount of second-place finishes (two) and same number of third place finishes (three). The title will be decided by fourth-place finishes which Vettel leads three to two.

* Should Vettel win and Webber is second they'll finish on the same number of points but the German will take the honours as he will have five race victories to the Australian's four.

NZ tour of India 2010

After Ricky Ponting's men faced the heat in India. We have New Zealand touring India in November -December 2010 to play 3 Tests and 5 One day matches. After the drubbing they recieved at the hands of minnows Bangladesh in the one day series Vettori and his men would know that the NZ tour of India 2010 would be a tough challenge. Team India will be on a high after beating Australia comprehensively in the Test series. It is a good time for India to stamp their superiority in the Test rankings and try to move up in the one day rankings also.

How can India Qualify for T20 World Cup 2010 semi final

Indians have almost kicked themselves out of the ICC 20-20 World Cup 2010 held in West Indies by losing both their initial matches in the SuperEight Stage. So against Sri Lanka on Tuesday they have their work cut out.

1. Australia need to beat West Indies. Even a 4 run victory of Australia over West Indies is sufficient.

2. If India bats first it needs to defeat Sri Lanka by atleast 20 runs.

3. If India bowls first then it needs to achieve the target set by Sri Lanka in a minimum of 17 overs.

4. Finally India should not play Ravindra Jadeja. Fellow does not know how to bat, how to bowl and now he does not know how to field also.

Bahrain Grand prix 2010- about tickets, how to reach & where to stay

Welcome to the first race of Formula1 grand prix 2010 season(12-13-14 March). This year Bahrain has been chosen to host the first race of the season definitely you would like to catch up the action. For those who want to travel but dont know about how to go about here is a blog which will try to recommend you about your tickets purchase, flight and hotel stay and how to reach Bahrain International Circuit.

Tickets:
If you are buying tickets online then I would like  to recommend the following site:http://www.bahraingp.com/en/tickets.The Grand stand (Main,Batelco & Turn 1) is the best place to watch the race from but if you want to lessen the burden on your purse I would suggest both the Victory  Grandstands. You can get a three day pass from Friday-Sunday or only the Race day pass which is valid for Sunday. The atmosphere at the Bahrain International Circuit is like a carnival on these three days with a lot of variety shows on display.

Airlines

Gulf Air is the official sponsor for the Bahrian Grand Prix 2010 and it operates flights to various European and Asian destinations.Check the link to find out moreGulf Air.
However you can also try out the link to the below mentioned airlines if it makes your visit to Bahrain convenient.
Jet Airways
Lufthansa
KLM
British Airways

I would also suggest Bahrain Air if this low cost carrier flies to your city.

Hotels
All hotels in Bahrain charge a premium for the week when the race is held. Though hotels are booked well in advance I would like to give my recommendations. All hotels are based in the capital Manama and one has to take a transport to go to the race track.
For more hotels click here

Finally one main reason why you should be at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 14th because Michael Schumacher is back on track!
